Christmas 2013

So we put up our Christmas Tree (Red and Gold this year) and its a fake, but I still love it. Jack and Charlie are really working out together. Jack is becoming more and more social and personable and loving every day. They adore each other. We had our first major snow storm and we got about 4-5 inches of soft snow. I also added to my chalk wall a "O Holy Night" Christmas tree. I think it turned out pretty good for being free hand.

8 days till Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New Addition to the Family + Exciting News

This is Jack, the newest addition to our family. He is a Shiba Inu Pup and is about 8 months old. So far he gets along pretty well with Charlie. He sit and lays down on command. No accidents yet. This just might work out! In this picture he looks rather large BUT he is actually really small. They get to be about 25lbs. Currently Jack is around 16lbs and very well mannered.

My next exciting news is ............................................I got accepted into Webster University. I will be a transfer student and will be working on my Bachelors in Legal Studies. I am so excited that it almost does not feel real. Webster is a Private University out here in St. Louis. It is a very well respected school and I am actually surprised I got in. I applied with the impression that my A.A. would not transfer and that I was not up to their standards scholarly wise. I am very blessed and thankful that I was accepted. I can't wait to go school supply shopping!!!!!!!

Yard Work Weekend

Well It was bound to  happen guys.....that one awful dreadful task that SOME people actually enjoy and others despise.....Yep that's right......YARD WORK!!!!!! its inevitable when owning a house. I thought it would take care of itself kind of like how my parents took care of it at home and how Frank the landlord took care of it at the apartment.

Reality check Simone!!!! I did yard work on the first beautiful day in St. Louis this year. Instead of soaking up the sun, taking a walk, eating "Bon-Bons", I did yard work and my body is feeling it today.

On Saturday I chopped down ugly bushes, dean plants and anything that looked like it was never going to see life. Our grass is yellow and  in pretty bad shape BUT it is slowly, very slowly at a glaciers pace coming together. it looks cleaner that's for sure.

On Sunday Chris helped with the front yard. We put new mulch in the front and it made a big difference. I still need to dig up the ugly dead plants growing along the walkway and plant pretty flowers and put down new mulch there as well. It's a work in progress. Our house no longer looks like the neglected house on the block!!! Woot!

I know what you are thinking over there, you are thinking to yourself "A twenty-something year old doing yard work on the weekend"???? Don't worry on Saturday we had dinner at Mission Taco because I deserved it!

On Sunday morning we had Donuts on art hill and soaked up a wee amount of sun before going to Lowe's and Home Depot 5 times... They recognize us!!!

How can I forget about Charles? The poor pup had an allergic reaction to something because his snout puffed up like a puffer fish..he was fine the next day though, so no worries.

This is a side view of our yard. Yes it all looks dead but trust me it looks so much cleaner now! We plan to put down new mulch where the dirt is.

Backyard

If you look closely his left side in the picture still looks swollen compared to the right. This was the day after he turned into a blow fish.

Charlie Face

Backyard 2

This is part of the backyard. Those brown paper bags you see on the side, I filled up 10 of them!

Dinner

Just a view from Mission Taco on Saturday night.

Runners

There was a marathon going on on Delmar on Sunday morning. It was neat seeing the different age range running.

Snow Day!!!!!

Yesterday was my first official Snow Day! In my twenty some years of living I have never experienced this much snow. Yes it was only like 5 inches but still that is more than I have ever seen. It was everywhere!!! They let us go home early from work because the office was worried about the road conditions. Some people have 1 hour commutes to work so I couldn't imagine driving in snow and ice for an hour!! Scary!

I took advantage of my early day off and zoomed (not really) to the mall so I can get my hands on more BBW candles. I had a coupon, snow or no snow I was going to use this coupon! I made it there and back home just in time for the snow to really pick up.  What is a girl to do on a snow day? Of course me being the odd one that I am, I cleaned, I made my bathroom (minus the shower area) sparkle like a diamond! Two loads of laundry and a homemade meatloaf dinner! I was on top of the world and then I got SIS (snowed in syndrome) I got antsy and needed to go out!

We ventured out to Target and I couldn't  believe the amount of snow. It was everywhere on the road, in the parking, lot, highways and on top of cars. Is this really where I live??? We managed and when we got home we couldn't get up the driveway. We were stuck.........we had to dig the car out and the driveway to make it up and forward to the garage. That was interesting HA!!

This morning our phones were down so they opened the office at 10 am. The phones are still down and I have loads of  work BUT I had to post my first experience of Snow Day!!

This was a little after I got home.

This is Charles eyes my lunch. He kept getting closer and closer and closer until I caught him mid lick! Luckily no pizza was harmed.

This was in the evening. Not much of a change except that my neighbor shoveled a bit!

Long Over Due No Excuse Update

Good Morning people who actually read my blog.

It has been a very very long time since I have posted an update. A few important reasons why, but also a big reason is I lost my blogging drive. I did not have exciting things to blog about BUT today is your lucky day so take a seat, grab a coffee and prepare yourself for a long post.

First and for most we got a dog. Yep that is right we buckled down and adopted a chocolate lab mix puppy named Charlie! he drives me nuts but he is the cutest thing to set foot in the apartment

. Image

He loves running around in circles over and over again until he tires himself out and collapses on the floor. He seriously collapse like a dramatic diva when he is tired. He is about 99% house broken with the exception of a few incidents that almost made me give him up for adoption. He has not chewed up anything expensive except a few socks and my dress pants. At the end of the day though he is a keeper and he needs to grow into his little peanut head.

Next up, Pedro The Lion..

Image

I got to meet David Bazan, of Pedro the Lion. He had this little intimate small play session at someone's house. There were maybe 40 people max and everyone was sitting around listening to him play. He has such an amazing voice. Very powerful and rich sounding. He brought his daughter along with him and she was so adorable. Lucky for me I got to take a picture and have a vinyl autographed. Woot go me!

Lets see, what else, Oh the 4th of July

Image

This was our 4th of July view. Enough said!

I have to include a Cardinals game in the mix.

Image

Best view so far. I almost caught a ball (not really) but in theory I almost did. I love going to Cardinals games. I love going to live sport games period. They are so much fun and exciting and way better than watching from home on the TV.  So far they are doing pretty darn good this season. Lets hope they keep it up.

nanananananan BAT MAN!!!!!!!

Image

Did you guys see the Bat Man premier movie? We saw it in the OmniMax theater. WOW my neck was killer the next day but so worth it. The movie was amazing. I'm pretty sure we are going to see it again on a regular screen.

Hope I did not bore you to death this time. At least I provided pictures because pictures are always fun to see.
